We have had a very busy few weeks in Newton Class.  Our first day back after half term, we were lucky enough to have a trip to the cinema to watch Finding Dory.  All of the children represented St Catherine’s extremely well and we are very proud of them all.

Following on from our cinema trip we did some fantastic description writing, trying to incorporate adjectives, nouns and noun phrases as well as our basic skills . We enjoyed learning all about Guy Fawkes too.   We also have been looking at the famous moon landing and finding out about Neil Armstrong.  We were all really enthusiastic about this and  produced some fantastic questions that we would have loved to have asked him!

Our Maths has been based around 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.  We also looked at pattern sequences, directions and movement.

Today we all marked the 2 minute silence and stood with our poppies with pride.  We made some poppy wreaths and had an art afternoon, drawing pictures of poppies in the fields.dscn4531
